I've been listening to less and less music over the years. At our home we listened to an Echo DOT, at my shop I have an old stereo system with a few good speakers, also driven from Amazon via Alexa. I used to be a fanatic music fan. Went to hundreds--maybe a thousand concerts. Twice or more per week, for years. I suddenly realized that I only paid attention to music at my shop. I asked Claude -- yes, the AI--what the problem might be. Claude called the Echo Dot a bad substitute for a clock radio (literally, here's a copy/paste from Claude: " — the Echo Dot is basically a clock radio with Alexa. Easy to do much better.") and recommended the WiiM Amp Pro. I had four KEF Q10 speakers kicking around so I used two of them and bought the Wiim. Claude also recommended qobuz over amazon ultra HD). Claude steered me right. The WiiM Amp pro and two twenty year old KEF speakers flat out blew me away. I sat on the floor and listened to music like I was 17 again (I'm 79). Glorious. I spent a small fortune in the '70s for my music system, and when streaming came along I had thousands of CDs. I'm back to loving music and paying attention to artistry again for a tiny fraction of what I previously spent. The sound the WiiM Amp Pro is capable of is simply astounding. My hearing isn't what it used to be, years spent racing cars and motorcycles, and standing next to steam driven turbine generators have pretty much killed the high frequencies. I thought my damaged hearing meant good equipment and high rez audio would be wasted on me. Wrong. I was listening today and thought something was wrong with the system. I'd accidentally selected a album streaming at 16/44.1 and it sounded flat. I fixed that and selected 24-bit/192kHz and was astonished at the difference. The app could be a bit more intuitive, but I'm getting used to it. I'm loving music again. I can hear the space between the notes, and all the music I loved and music I never paid attention to before is restored from the muddle mess that came out of progressively crappier systems. Thanks, I love this thig.
Works GREAT with my old speakers. User friendly APP and excellent sound with Klipsch KG 5.2 full range speakers from college. Gorgeous unit and wife loves the look and sound from this unit as well. Nice engineering behind this unit.
Overall functionality, sound, and quality of the unit is excellent. My complaints are very far down on my list of concerns. I do wish it had a line-level analogue output, and more analogue inputs.
Really impressed with this speaker. Sounds amazing and works flawlessly. I use it with an Amp Pro to sync with my turntable and play records in multiple rooms. Already planning to get a couple more.
I've installed several of these for customers and wanted to try one for myself. Great amp, lots of features, reasonable price.
